Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its fastest car ever, the Mercedes-AMG GT63 Performance S E. The car, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km in 2.8 seconds, comes as a hybrid version of the current AMG GT63.
Mercedes-Benz, a company known for its awe-inspiring cars, yesterday announced the AMG GT63, a rechargeable hybrid that will have car enthusiasts drooling. The vehicle comes as the hybrid version of Mercedes-AMG’s highly acclaimed GT series.
The full name is AMG GT63 S E Performance, and it’s a car that will really impress with its design and features. So much so that it is said to be the fastest car Mercedes-AMG has ever made.
Offering 804 horsepower, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds.
The AMG GT63 S E Performance hybrid has been introduced with a design reminiscent of its siblings, which sports car enthusiasts love. Available with 20- and 21-inch wheels, the car comes as a two-door coupe.
Let’s come to the most striking part, the new AMG GT63 S E Performance has a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with 603 horsepower. This is accompanied by a 201-horsepower electric motor. This gives a total of 804 horsepower. The hybrid system produces a monstrous 1420 Nm of torque.
These numbers make the rechargeable sports car Mercedes the quickest accelerating car to date. According to the brand, the new GT63 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers in just 2.8 seconds. This also makes it one of the fastest internal combustion engine cars. Its top speed is 318 kilometers.
Although the vehicle is billed as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), Mercedes has focused on performance rather than efficiency. The electric motor has 6.1 kWh of power. The range is only 12.8 kilometers.
Inside, we see a design similar to other models, with a large tablet-shaped screen in the center and a digital instrument panel. Let’s add 8 different driving modes. Ranging from sport to racing, from electric to comfort, these modes allow the driver to experience a speed and performance-oriented or comfortable driving experience.
The hybrid GT63 S E Performance will be available in the US towards the end of 2024. The price has not been announced yet, but estimates are that it will be over 200 thousand dollars.
