Trailer released for adaptation of Here Are the Young Men by Anya Taylor-Joy, Finn Cole and Dean-Charles Chapman

The trailer for here Is the Young Men, written and directed by Eoin Macken, a Merlin cast member, and featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, Finn Cole, and Dean-Charles Chapman, was released. The film’s story was adapted from Rob Doyle’s novel of the same name.

His film, written by Eoin Macken of the Merlin series, includes names such as Dean-Charles Chapman of Game Of Thrones, Finn Cole of Peaky Blinders, and Anya Taylor-Joy, whose name we’ve seen most recently in the Queen’s Gambit, whose name we’ve already often mentioned during the awards season we’re in.

The film, which is already intriguing because of the names in the cast, is set in Dublin in 2003. Based on a teenage boy named Matthew, played by Chapman, and his friends, the story tells of a summer period spent together by these young people who leave their schools in pursuit of drink, drugs, and excitement.

Of these young men who have no purpose in life, Matthew still longs for the free-spirited Jen, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. At the same time, Matthew has difficulty maintaining the problematic relationship between them and Kearney, played by Finn Cole. A teenager from a group of friends struggles with paranoia and depression.

As the story progresses, this group of friends are drawn into a world of nihilistic violence by Kearney, becoming involved in criminal acts that are multiplied enough to root out their lives. The film had its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh Festival last year. The film, which was likened to Trainspotting, was met with acclaim.

The release date of the film, which will be released on digital platforms in the UK from April 30, is not yet clear.
