A Letter Written By An 11-Year-Old Student In 1969 With Predictions About Future Technologies

A couple in their 60s in England found a letter written in 1969 under a sofa bed. This letter, written by an 11-year-old girl, contains predictions of what technology and life would have been like in the 1980s while predicting the features of today’s smartphones decades ago.

The 1969 letter, in which an 11-year-old girl wrote her predictions about how technology and life would change in 1980, appeared exactly 51 years later. It turned out that the little girl, who dreamed of a future where meals were consumed as chewing gum, just like Charlie’s Chocolate Factory, could have predicted a technology we often use today decades ago.

In his letter, the girl, whose name is not clear, wrote that in 1980, the phones would have a large screen and front camera so that they could make video calls. It is not known if the girl is still alive, but it is really surprising that this woman, who would have been 62 years old if she had lived now, predicted the future so clearly when she was an innocent age.

The letter, which was written, was found by a couple in their 60s living in the UK. It is unclear who wrote the letter, but it turned out that the letter was written in 1969, as homework, thanks to the date thrown on the top right side of the paper.

Here’s the letter was written by the 11-year-old girl

letter

“It’s 1980, I’m 21 and I’m sitting on a floor mat. I remember when I was 11 and went to school, and everything has changed a lot since then. For example, in 1969, there was a button in front of the television. And now there are remote controls that allow you to turn the TV on and off.

I got married and I work in a bank. I’ve wanted to work in a bank all my life. My wife’s coming home from work soon, but we’re out of the teas we brewed in 1969. Now we only consume gum. You can ask if your stomach is full of gum, but these gums serve as a meal, and when you chew it, you feel as if a real meal is going down your throat. They’re really useful, and that way there are no dishes to wash.

Here’s my wife came. When he sees me, he always says, “push the button, honey.” This button allows our door to open automatically.

– Hey, Honey, I need to video-call a friend.

– Then clean yourself up a little.

In 1969, what we called a telephone was a square box with an antenna at the end. Now it has a huge screen and camera, so people can talk to their friends in a video format. It looks a little like a TV. When I look back 10 years ago, I can see that everything has changed tremendously.”
