Amanda Joy Michalka, better known as AJ Michalka, is an American actress and singer. She rose to fame with the band Aly & AJ, which she co-founded with her sister Alyson ‘Aly’ Michalka. Born on April 10, 1991, in Torrance, California, she is the second child of construction company owner Mark Michalka and musician Carrie Michalka.
At the age of 6, she learned to play the piano, later the guitar, and many other musical instruments. At the beginning of his acting career, he guest starred in the series Passions in 2002. She went on to appear in Birds of Prey, The Guardian, General Hospital, Six Feet Under, and Oliver Beene. Meanwhile, she and her sister Aly Michalka performed several songs for Disney Channel’s albums. They performed the song Great Time Of Year for the movie Santa Clause 3 and shot a music video for it. Then their album Insomniatic came in the same month. They recorded their song Like Woah for the Disney Channel Original Movie Minute Man. From the album Insomniatic, they made music videos for their songs Like Woah and Potential Breakup Song. He also starred in the MTV movie Super Sweet 16: The Movie with his sister that same year.
In 2010, due to tensions with Hollywood Records, they left the label and she and her sister changed the name of their band to 78Violet. In 2010 they released a new song called The Next Worst Thing. After a long break, AJ played in the movie The Lovely Bones directed by Peter Jackson in 2009.
She also appeared in the family movies Secretariat and Sloe Moe in 2010. He sang the song It’s Who You Are for the movie Secretariat. Parts from the movie were used in the music video. In the fall, they released Belong Here, the theme song for Alyson Michalka’s hit series Hellcats. In those years, music genres shifted from pop to rock. She made a guest appearance on Hellcats.
