Konami releases new video for eFootball game

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. as part of Gamescom 2021, the makers of PES and Winning Eleven have released a new trailer detailing numerous on-field gameplay features for the brand new football simulation platform eFootball ™.

“with the many changes we have made this year, we believe it is important for players to first understand the feeling that our football game will experience on the field – it is extremely realistic and a reflection of our passion for real-world football. The decades of experience we have accumulated in developing PES and Winning Eleven games have been transferred to eFootball in an effort to reach football fans around the world. This is the beginning of a unique journey and we have great plans for the future,” he said.

Control the touch of the ball

As in real football, players will be able to control both the speed of dribbling and the hardness of shots from the first touch of the ball to the distance. In October, eFootball ™ will use the controller’s tactile feedback and adaptive triggers to make you feel the difference in footballer movements on PlayStation ® 5*.

Don’t fool a defender

We’ve turned almost every game into a mutual mind game*, giving players more freedom to control how they hide the ball. Through intuitive commands, you will be able to use a wide range of dribbling and body-swiping movements. When these come together, the positions you are facing will offer an exciting experience for both offensive and defensive deciders.

Steals and creating new opportunities

Players can block opponents ‘ shots by throwing their bodies forward or by reading the shot and cutting the pass. Naturally, you will be able to have an excellent goal opportunity by playing the ball in a position close to the opponent’s goal.

Physical Combat

eFootball ™ activates the “physical defense”, which is very important in real-life football, with an offensive command during the defense. In October, the offensive team is also able to use their bodies to keep the ball in play, making both the offensive and defensive play more dynamic.

Sharp Shot (Sharp Kick)*

The “sharp Stroke” option, which comes with all-new animations, will make the game even more technical and exciting. Players will be able to make special shots, such as sharp Middle, fast passing, and aerial shots. Since these new moves take more time to perform, it is important that players choose the right moments during the match.

One-On-One Encounters

the eFootball ™ development team analyzed real-life football tactics to create a new “1vs1” win/loss ruleset. With Motion Matching technology, the game assesses the ball, speed of movement, body direction, physical ability, and more in real-time to influence each player’s movement. These win/lose rules work with the footballer movement to make the game more believable, including reworked foul decisions.

Improved team play and new controls

Team play is a must for football, so the artificial intelligence that controls players without the ball has been updated. Players will have the freedom to play as they please by combining this with new offensive and defensive controls.

A new camera: the fight (Duel)

The new “Duel” camera zooms in when the player is in the 1vs1 state, allowing the player to enjoy the one-on-one encounter scene from a closer distance. When the player is free, the field of view expands, allowing the player to send a long pass at the right moment.

General improvements

The new motion Matching animation system creates much more natural and fluid player movements. In addition, new improvements in ball movement have been achieved thanks to cooperation with a research center. Finally, thanks to the Seamless Restart system, the action will never stop during the match.

More information on game modes, licenses, mobile devices, release dates and more will be announced in September, so please stay tuned.

eFootball ™ will be released worldwide for the first time this fall as a free-to-play platform on PlayStation ® 5, PlayStation ® 4, Xbox Series X|s, Xbox One, Windows ® 10, and PC Steam ®, followed by iOS and Android versions.
