A trailer for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning Broadway musical In The Heights has been released. The highly anticipated film will meet audiences on June 11.

Our excited and curious wait continues for Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the Hamilton musical, which won a Golden Globe nomination this year, to film In the Heights, adapted for cinema from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, also in the cast, directed the film. I. Joe: Retaliation, Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians by Jon M. Chu takes over.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Jimmy Smits, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, and Dascha Polanco are among the cast of the film.

The film, written by Marc Klein, screenwriter of Quiara Alegría Hudes and Serendipity, A Good year, Mirror Mirror, invites the audience to the streets of Washington Heights. The film tells the story of a wine shop owner, Usnavi, who wants to close his store and move to the Dominican Republic after an inheritance from his grandmother, but has mixed feelings about it.
