Teaser trailer from Roland Emmerich’s “Moonfall”

If you want to watch the American effort to save the world from a disaster again, you can take a look at the first teaser trailer for the new action epic Moonfall by Roland Emmerich, a director branded on the subject. The director is best known for exciting, high-profile sci-fi films such as Independence Day, The Day after Tomorrow, and 2012.

Drawing another speculative sci-fi premise, Moonfall follows a group of people trying to save Earth as the moon approaches. As always, Emmerich’s sci-fi films lean heavily on the “fiction” part. So does this film, because after a mysterious force throws it out of its orbit, the moon begins to head towards Earth. Maybe the aliens in Independence Day and Independence Day: Resurrection is back! Naturally, NASA administrator and former astronaut Jo Fowler, astronaut Brian Harper and conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman, when they begin their journey into space, realize that the Moon is not what we thought it was.

Halle Berry as Fowler, Patrick Wilson as Harper, and John Bradley as Houseman, who we know from Game Of Thrones. Completing the rest of the cast will be Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor, Carolina Bartczak, and Donald Sutherland. The film will be released worldwide on February 4, 2022.

We don’t get much detail in the Teaser trailer, however, the images we see show really incredible special effects, and a big budget will cover us again. The glorious images and action scenes prove that Emmerich really is the Michael Bay of sci-fi. A good disaster movie is always enjoyable with its formulated subject matter and can fill the halls. Emmerich had already proven that he was good at it.
