One of the most remarkable series that will meet the audience this year will be Shogun, based on James Clavell’s novel of the same name. The series, which was realized by the American cable channel FX, which has previously signed works such as Sons of Anarchy, Fargo, and The Bear, will start on February 27. While the exciting wait for Shogun, a big-budget samurai series, continues, a new trailer from the series has been released.

James Clavell’s acclaimed 1975 novel was previously adapted into a miniseries in 1980, and this highly acclaimed adaptation was remembered as one of the most remarkable works of the 80s. This new adaptation by FX is based on Clavell’s original novel, not the 1980 miniseries.

Shogun Will Take Viewers to 1600s Japan

Shogun will take viewers back to Feudal Japan in the 1600s, where a British sailor whose ship has run aground off the coast of Japan is drawn into the power struggle in a land he is unfamiliar with. Lord Yoshii Toranaga, realizing that the information provided by this sailor can change the balance in his struggle against his enemies, accepts this European, a stranger to their culture, into his household and enters into a risky power struggle where loyalties are tested at every moment.

Lord Toranaga is played by Hiroyuki Sanada (John Wick, Mortal Kombat), known for his impressive performances, and the British sailor at the center of the story is played by Cosmo Jarvis. Anna Sawai, Tadanobu Asano, Hiroto Kanai, Takehiro Hira, and Moeka Hoshi join them in the cast.
